Know I'm Saved

I prayed the sinner's prayer and still doubt my salvation.

Have you ever wonder where the "Sinner's Prayer" came from? While the "sinner's prayer" has become a standard operating procedure for many ministers today, you would be hard pressed to find it being used prior to the 20th Century. In fact, can you think of one time in the Bible when Jesus, or any of his apostles, ever led a person in a "sinner's prayer" for salvation? And if not, we have to ask ourselves, "If Jesus and his disciples never lead anyone in a "sinner's prayer", why do we?" And, "Upon what authority has the church ventured off into this unbiblical practice?"

Make no mistake about it, whenever you deviate from God's word, there will always be dire consequences, especially when it comes to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. While the Bible says that we are saved by grace through faith, there are others teaching to come by grace through prayer. But prayer can never be a substitute for faith. Have you ever doubted your salvation, and then tried to repeat your prayer to gain assurance? Do you find yourself saying, "Lord, if I'm not saved, please save me?"
